Another Akira success story in 2006 is to design and engineer a revolutionary new beam structure called "Round Power Frame (RPF)" into every new TM drivers making it possible to design a desirable deeper center of gravity through manipulating the “thinness” of the crown and to generate a high launch angle - a crucial factor of distance.
TM drivers use AP-603 graphite shafts exclusively produced for Akira by Fujikura. In order to use the energy of the bow of the shaft in maximum, we have designed to improve the running of the head and to stabilize the direction through the bow of the shaft like the spring.
The beam structure Akira took particular note of to reinforce the rigidity of the driver head has now evolved further in the new TM series. We have succeeded to make the thinner thickness of the crown up to 0.55mm (0.22inches) through the new beam structure design called “Round Power Frame (RPF)”. In addition that the new TM drivers make it possible to design an ideal deeper center of gravity, three tunable weights align with the club face transmit impact power to the golf ball efficiently and the moment of inertia in the larger heads keeps the movement of the head in minimum even the off center shot. The variable density face increases repulsive power, stabilizes the direction and also minimizes the loss of the distance. The new beam structure of Round Power Frame is really developed to achieve an ultimate distance.
