The "New" XLi utilizes HiBORE Distance Driven Geometry to produce an effective visual transition from long to short irons. The XLi long irons were designed with a box shape in mind, what this did was added more stability than the original HiBORE iron and increased the MOI. The XLi short irons were designed with a shorter blade length and a thinner top line than the original HiBORE Iron. This helped to create a compact shape in the short irons and added playability.
