The compact players cavity Mizuno Pro 223 Irons are designed for elite players and tour professionals, but feature a completely new piece of technology that grants added distance for demanding, extended course layouts. The aforementioned technology comes in the form of the irons' forged Chromoly construction and Flow Micro-Slot, which results in an extremely thin, flexible face that generates extreme ball speeds. In fact, the Pro 223 boasts a thinner face than its players distance relative, the JPX 921 Forged.
While distance is a boon in longer irons, great players seek precision and control in their shorter irons and wedges. As such, the Pro 223's eight iron through pitching wedge are crafted using the same one-piece Grain Flow Forged 1025E Pure Select mild carbon steel construction as the muscleback Pro 221.
