Introducing The New Miura Tour Wedge Chrome Global Version
The new Tour Wedge provides the legendary Miura feel that golfers covet. This wedge does not chase distance, but rather the precision and control necessary for scoring. It is the first from Miura to use CNC milling for the face and grooves, allowing for ultimate spin control.
The Tour Wedge is designed with a hollow back shape to create a higher center of gravity. The unique distribution of weight produces a stable trajectory while still allowing the player the ability to flight the shot, if necessary. Like all clubs forged by Miura, the grain structure within the club head is the tightest in the industry. This creates less dispersion on off-center hits, as well as provides control from all lies and conditions.
The head design of the Tour Wedge will match any Miura model. Its size and shape is best suited for the CB57, MB-001, CB-1008, and the new MC-501.
FORGING
The forging process begins when steel billets are heated to 1200°C and the first two strikes are delivered, improving the A improving the precision of the forging process.
The next step involves another precision strike of the dub head within a die. The head is heated to a temperature of 800 — 900°C. By allowing the dub head to cool and then be 'reheated, the shape of the head is maintained, while allowing the grain structure within the club head to be manipulated. Following the initial forge, the stamping process takes the stage, Tn most challenging technique is the stamping of scoring lines and grooves while simultaneously maintaining the club head's performance integrity. A critical process, the scorning lines become the basis for the loft, lie and offset of each iron.
The hosel is then attached to the club head by a "spin forged" technique. Spun at high speed. the friction between the hosel and head melds the two co orients — a forging process that is unique in the industry. These techniques produce a golf club that is unparalleled.
GRINDING
To ensure a consistent look, Miura developed a procedure for the initial 'profile" grind which allows each club head to be ground to perfection. When grinding the face of the club head, particular attention is paid to delivering the optimum groove shape and subsequent performance as dictated by the R&A and the USGA.
Polishing
Once the grinding process is complete, the club heads are polished in barrels with small small smooth stones. Miura craftsmen then eliminate any imperfections that remain. Finishes such as satin, chrome, matte black, or raw all demand different polishing preparations and are created using specific buffing wheels. I step in the forging process is the paint fill of the club head. Followed by a final check for any imperfections, the factory can confidently ship a finished product 'family can be proud of.
